Hi and
thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the content found on my blog.
First
things first: the title. For any Wally Lamb readers, you'll know that these are
the famous last words (and title) of the writer's acclaimed novel "I Know
This Much Is True". One of my favourite books EVER - I love what this line
stands for; while I acknowledge there are a lot of things about this world I do
not know, I know this much is true.
I've
recently finsihed my undergrad at the University of Waterloo. I studied
communications and I am now working in sales for a technology company in the
GTA. I debate regularly about going back and doing my MBA but I figure I still
have a few years to figure that one out.
I LOVE
food and I joke with friends, saying that is the reason I was so big for so
long. Throughout much of elementary school as well as all of high school I was
overweight and unhappy with how I looked. Finally, in the 12th grade, my New
Year's resolution stuck and I made a commitment to eat better and exercise. The
first 10-20 pounds came off fast (as it normally does) but over the next 2 years
I went on to lose about 60 pounds in total. While I'm satisfied with how I look
now, Justin and I have made a committment to eating better and
exercising more.
I have a
wonderful boyfriend of 3 years, Justin. We met in high school and started
dating in my 3rd year of university. While many of my friends are surprised to
find out I'm dating someone like Justin (same thing with his friends when they
meet me), we are very happy together and balance each other out quite well.
Justin is in to tattoos and piercings and I'm into Chanel and
pearls.
In March
of 2011 we adopted a Miniature Pinscher, Chauka. I think absolutely
everything he does is ADORABLE and despite the fact that he chews my shoes
sometimes, I love him very, very much. This blog will include things he
does, things we do as a "family" as well as any Min Pin additions
that we may encounter down the road. *WARNING TO ALL BLOG
READERS - I am dog OBSESSED and I guarentee most or all of my posts will have
some Chauka element (can you tell I'm obsessed with my dog??).
I've
always enjoyed cooking and baking (part of what got me into such trouble in the
past!). I hope this blog will chronicle my adventures (successes AND
failures) in the kitchen; now that I'm finished school, I have more time
on my hands with which I hope to create new and healthier receipes.
Overall,
I will use this blog to talk about and share thoughts on food, friends, family,
love and of course, my dog. I respect the fact that my opinion may not be the
same as others and I will make every effort to be respectful when sharing
thoughts and feelings; in turn, I ask that comments and emails are
also polite and respectful.
Happy
reading!
